Hello, - Save this message and read it. Yahoogroups will send you a confirmation today. Do not reply to that confirmation unless you wish to unsubscribe. Please save this message. It will seem silly now, but in a few weeks you may find yourself needing the basic info given here. ATTENTION: AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo and other web mail systems. All AOL and Hotmail users should put these list names or these list domains, in their "Address Book" for AOL and in their "Safe List" for Hotmail. Adapt these suggestions to your mail system to ensure whitelisting. List names:- note replace the (at) with @ DOMestic(at)topica.com FEMdom_sex(at)topica.com DOMestic(at)yahoogroups.com FEMdom_sex(at)yahoogroups.com DOMestic(at)Ms-Christine.com DOMestic(at)MsChristine.com Or, if you are on multiple lists at Topica or Yahoo you might just enter these domains in your address book at AOL or with Hotmail as safe, or whatever your ISP calls a whitelist:- topica.com yahoogroups.com Ms-Christine.com MsChristine.com This will ensure that messages are always seen directly in the inbox, even if you use the most restrictive folder for AOL (People I know) or filter for Hotmail (Exclusive). It is possible you have previously placed yourself in "read on the web" or holiday/vacation mode. You have now subscribed to receive the full DOMestic text file digest in your email box free of charge. You can also use this message to reply and send subscribe or unsubscribe messages by simply changing the subject line, or cutting and pasting the words you want. If going on *holiday* - unsubscribe before you go and subscribe when you come back. Or set yourself to no mail at either Yahoo or Topica. If your mail box overflows, this just makes extra work for us. If you are *changing email* address, send an unsubscribe message from the old one, and a subscribe message from the new one. To subscribe to this digest list send email to: DOMestic(at)Ms-Christine.com with the word 'subscribe' as the subject line or as the *only* word in the message. To unsubscribe from the list send a mail addressed in the same way but with the word 'unsubscribe' as the subject or as the *only* word in the message. *Replying directly to subscribers of this and many mailing lists is bad netiquette - send your reply only to the list* On the Yahoo or Topica systems **do** **not** set your preferences to digest - we only send manually edited digests to those systems, so setting your preferences to digest will just delay receipt of the digest and may increase the size of the messages. If you don't like the text file version of the digest via Yahoo or Topica, you can switch to a mime compliant digest, which better email software may display as individual messages. If the above is what you would prefer then you need to subscribe instead to the mime digest list, send email containing only the following text: *switch-to-mime-digest* Some folk would prefer to not receive the whopping great digest in their email box - instead they prefer to just receive a very short clickable link message to a URL like the one below. http://www.mschristine.com/temp/today.txt If the above is what you would prefer then you need to subscribe instead to the click list, send email containing only the following text: *switch-to-click-list* Unless you requested otherwise, you have been subscribed to the *digest version* of the list. However some users have problems with the digest. So we also offer Individual messages:- The messages which make up the digest are forwarded separately to you. If for any reason you would prefer to switch to the individual messages list just send an email with one long word in the message *switch-to-list2* Do not place any other text in the message as it may be posted to the list instead of causing you to be switched to the alternate list. If you are on list2 (the individual messages list) and now want to switch to the digest send a message with one long word in the message *switch-to-digest* Do not place any other text in the message as it may be posted to the list instead of causing you to be switched to the alternate list. Please remember that the alternate versions of the list are services that cost much more for us to send out as it involves sending many messages a day. Please do not switch to these lists if you can read the text file digest via Yahoo etc. Posts (***your messages***) to the DOMestic list are archived in a ***public archive*** on the blog and at http://www.mschristine.com/temp/ and may also be selected for inclusion in the DOMestic password site at http://www.mschristine.com/DOMestic/ where the best of DOMestic is permanently stored in graphical format. This web site is also available on a CD-ROM - the latest version is produced manually upon receipt of orders. Supporters of DOMestic can see the latest at http://www.mschristine.com/DOMestic/new.htm and try the improved search engine at http://www.mschristine.com/DOMestic/search.htm If you do not have a DOMestic password then you can read three months of back issues, click on the button at http://www.mschristine.com/freepage.shtml You can can get (or renew) your password at http://www.mschristine.com/domsub4.shtml You can search the free archives with the search engine at... http://www.mschristine.com/freepage.shtml DOMestic has over 10,000 daily recipients and has been completely free of charge for over ten years, and this is achieved by the generosity of folk who purchase passwords and our CD-ROM's - you are under no obligation to financially support us. If you do not wish your message to be sent out to the list, then simply say *Do Not Post* prominently at the start of your message, and we will treat it as a personal or admin message to the moderators. Thus, if it is not posted to the list - it will not be archived, and will not be available to the public. If you wish to post your message anonymously to the list, and the archives simply say *please anonymize* prominently at the start of your message. Welcome to DOMestic - you are now subscribed. You do not need to do anything more. You will receive your first digest in the next day or so. You are **not** required to send a financial contribution. But if you do, you will receive a password to the DOMestic web site which has all the good stuff from the past DOMestic digests going back over ten years. Adults only. Current DOMestic welcome and admin information. If you did not subscribe to this email list, you have been the victim of a hoax and we are sorry that some stupid hackers find this kind of thing amusing. - - - - - - - - - - - - cut-here - - - - - - - - - - - - - The most important thing in all mail is the list address. DOMestic(at)Ms-Christine.com To post just send your message as email, *NOT as an attachment*, to the list address and never send direct to the person posting, unless specifically requested. All mail sent to the list address will be considered for posting unless it says otherwise. Guidelines for Posting based on an original by Mule 1. No attachments If it all possible cut and paste the text you are posting into an email message. Generally, attachments cause problems to mailing list software. Use appropriate line lengths. If you can - set your email program to maximum 65 character line length. 2. Give a synopsis if it is a long message or story. Some of the material you write is going to offend somebody. Write a one sentence synopsis of what the story is about. 3. Write in English Take time to apply at least some basic grammar. Try to write in complete sentences and run the spell checker please. 4. Write in Episodes if it is a story. Bear in mind that many people use Juno or other email systems that limit the size of the email messages they can receive. Never send a message over 50k in length as it will simply bounce on these systems. Ideally 5 or 6 pages of text is enough for one episode. 5. Write for the screen Use a simple PLAIN TEXT font - not proportional and not HTML. Write for the media in which you publish. At it's worst, this media is a 20-line by 75-character screen. Break up your paragraphs so that there is at least one break on each screen. Nothing makes reading harder than wall-to-wall text. Use a blank line between paragraphs rather than indenting. Indenting is OK for books; it doesn't seem to work as well on the screen. It also screws up the formatting in some email programs. 6. We may automatically archive the post and/or story on the DOMestic web page and the DOMestic blog site. Please do not post to the list if you don't want it placed there. 7. Keep the content appropriate to list guidelines. To try and sort the digest we have introduced new posting guidelines. It will help reduce our workload if you think about your subject line before you send your email. All correspondence subject lines should start with a C: All personal ad subject lines must start with a P: Reply subject lines in your email software will as a rule automatically start with Re: - and that is fine - so that Re: C: or Re: P: will be properly sorted All story subject lines must start with an S: All announcements, which includes business stuff should have a subject line that starts with U: for url's Send your posts to DOMestic(at)Ms-Christine.com replying directly to people unless specifically requested is a breach of list rules which the moderators will oppose vigorously. - - - - - - - - - - - - cut-here - - - - - - - - - - - - - You can access Ms. Christine's *free* web site on, http://www.mschristine.com/ The DOMestic web site is password protected on http://www.mschristine.com/DOMestic/ apply for a password on line at http://www.mschristine.com/domsub4.shtml - - - - - - - - - - - - cut-here - - - - - - - - - - - - - Guidelines and Introduction. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To write to the moderators privately about the list policy, place the word MODERATOR in the subject line of any mail addressed to us, for prompt attention. Even if you just want to say hi or thanks off list then put the word moderator in the subject line. We will read it but not post it. What is DOMestic? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ DOMestic is a moderated list. It is currently sent out in a digest or individual messages format. And is also sent as a clickable link message - the click list. The subject is DOM/sub of a DOMestic nature between consenting adults. DOMestic discipline between adults and children is NOT the focus of this list. Fantasies along these lines are acceptable only if the motivation is clearly to describe role playing situations between consenting adults. The moderators primary interest is FemDom, so it is likely that the list will attract this kind of post. But we are open minded and like to read about other variations of dom-sub. Male dominants and female submissives are welcome to participate. Fantasies involving the pretence of non-consenting situations are acceptable, but please make a point of suggesting that your post is a fantasy in a brief introduction. Or just head it up *Fantasy.* Many adults like to pretend, in their play, that they are being forced. Force is OK providing the victim has agreed to play the victim. This could be called consensual non consensuality or Role Play. If you want to use this list to pretend you are being forced, please head up your post as *Role Play* Real force or true absence of consent is not acceptable on this list, just as it is not accepted by any civilized society. Force is obviously part of DOM/sub play from the simple "My wife makes me wear her knickers to work" to the pretence "She will not let me have an erection and now she has started imposing discipline with her cane!" We all know this is the essence of role play and it's fun! What will the moderators be doing? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Supervising and administering the list now takes at least eight hours every day for one person, usually seven days a week. This is more than a full working week and your financial support for this service would be appreciated. We are kept busy adding and removing addresses, dealing with mail addressed to the moderator. Dealing with returned mail. We delete flames, advertising, circulars which we have seen widely distributed elsewhere, one line responses, and mail which contravenes the purposes of the list. Sometimes we will edit your post down, especially if it includes too much quoted text, or if just a word or two like *role play* is needed to make it conform to list policy. If your *post is fact* and must not be edited even slightly, then say so at the beginning. *Please help keep our moderating time down by complying with the rules* What is the purpose of the list? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To talk about Play and Reality in a DOMestic sub/dom context. DOMestic is relationships between people courting, dating, married, living together, or in a long term relationship. This includes posts from people who want to be in a relationship, but are not currently, or never have been. Play and Fantasy posts might include stories or accounts of real or imagined events. Descriptions of the way you would like life to be. Or anything that turns you on. Reality posts may be any correspondence about the way your life really is. The purpose of the reality part of the list is to allow us all to help each other. The play part of the list is to allow us to entertain each other. If advice is actively sought in a post, on how something 'SHOULD' be done, then you are of course free to answer and give your opinion. This is not offensive, because the answer was sought. Please do not waste your time and energy telling someone they are not doing it properly. If they are happy with their way, then please leave it be. By all means post a message saying what your preference is. HELP and Advice? Perfect harmony of needs and desires is rare. Because of the diversity of needs and desires, couples will often need help or advice on how to be 'better' at what it is that we do. = 'wiitwd' Frequently a Mistress or Master may want advice on how to do it. When to do it, and what to do. Sometimes a person just wants to share or open up their 'real self' without the pressure to perform or be the role. This list is a safe place to expose your 'real' self. You don't have to pretend that you are a lifestyle Mistress if you are not. You don't have to pretend you enjoy it all, if you do not. Personal adverts as such are not popular with readers. So if you want to encourage someone to write to you direct, tell a little story. Open up and explain who you are and what you like. Role play is fun. Let's all help each other to enjoy it. Signatures should be brief. Signatures are acceptable throughout the internet as a form of advertising, but it is generally felt to be polite to keep them short and sweet. Five lines is the standard we aim for on DOMestic and we will edit down overly long signatures. DOMestic by email is *completely free to you* and will remain so. We pay for our local telephone calls to access the net and unlike some countries we pay for the length of time we access the net to send out DOMestic. Your financial support would help us to cover these costs and help carry the costs of running the web site and publicly accessed archives. UNLIKE other lists DOMestic is processed and edited manually by humans, so please be patient! We have to sleep too. We feel this improves the quality and content. The only way we can totally protect DOMestic from hackers and spammers is to continue this manual moderation and dispatch. If you come to unsubscribe your message will almost definitely cross in the mail with issues of DOMestic already on the way to you. Please wait a day or two before wasting time with repeat messages. Receipt of two copies of the welcome message is possible if you sent in two or more subscription requests. Do not worry. As your email address gets transferred to the main list these duplications will be resolved, unless you used two different email addresses. If you find you have not received any mail from this list in a week, it may be because mail to your address has bounced. When we receive returned mail, we delete your name from the list. We have to do this, or our system freezes with the excessive bounced mail. Simply subscribe again when your system is once again working properly. If the list is very quiet it might be a few days between digests. Some people send more than one subscribe request and find themselves subscribed more than once. This will not usually happen if your email address is the same with each request, but if you change the information in your email address, you may find that you are subscribed twice. Simply send an unsubscribe message from one of your addresses and that address will be unsubscribed. You will receive the latest posts in one digest version every day, or every few days if there is not much activity on the list. Use your credit card safely on our secure site to authorise a US$26.99 (15 pounds or your own currency) contribution. Alternatively send a cheque for a similar amount in whatever currency by snail mail and advise this by email. Cheques should be made payable to the boss Christine Stevenson. Tel: Portugal (+351) 917 524 443 All financial contributors to DOMestic will receive a password and ID name for access to the DOMestic web site. In order to provide a fast server for the archives we are now paying for every hit to our web site, we are making the DOMestic area a password protected site to try and cover our costs on the mailing list as well. The main area is still free. Contributions larger than US$26.99 are acceptable. :) But if you just want to send what you can afford that's fine too. We picked US$26.99 because it seems such a small amount for a year of access that most folk can afford it. The most important thing in all mail is the list address. DOMestic(at)Ms-Christine.com To post just send your message as email, NOT as an attachment, to the list address. All non admin mail sent to this address will be considered for posting. *IMPORTANT* Check where you are replying to. The reply function on some email programs will fill in the name of the sender rather than the list. (it is a breach of list rules to send email direct to people on the list except in reply to personal ads) In Pegasus mail for example you can reply to the list by highlighting but not opening the digest and clicking on the reply button. If you are reading a message inside the digest and click on reply, it may send your mail to the individual sender, rather than to the list. Pegasus and other quality mail programs will usually allow you to choose which address to reply to. *Replying directly to subscribers of this and many mailing lists is bad netiquette - send your reply to the list* -------------------------------------------------- Do not post copyright material without the owners permission. -------------------------------------------------- DOMestic copyright statement. Briefly copyright belongs the original author, but compilation copyright belongs to DOMestic. The concept of a compilation copyright is the same as for book and magazine publishing. In a magazine or book containing letters, poetry or short stories, each letter, poem or story may be copyright by the original author but the book or magazine itself as a compilation has its own copyright. In the DOMestic list, each message is copyright by the person who wrote it but the list as a whole is a compilation copyrighted by the list owners. All material distributed by DOMestic remains the property of the original author and should not be reprinted or redistributed by email, web site, or any other media without permission of the DOMestic list owners and/or the author's permission as and when appropriate. Authors who post material to DOMestic expressly grant permission for their materials to be distributed to all DOMestic subscribers and readers. DOMestic articles may be archived by DOMestic subscribers only for personal use. DOMestic posts may be archived by the DOMestic mailing list distribution system and exclusively the DOMestic ftp, web site, and CDRom, for future reference. Authors are recommended, but not required, to include a notice of any copyright restrictions and include a requirement that such notice be retained in all subsequent use. DOMestic subscribers may occasionally wish to share some DOMestic information with non-subscribers on a casual basis such as by private E-mail or by word of mouth. One should have the author's permission before this is done. After obtaining such permission from the author and DOMestic, formal publications, such as printed media or Internet Web pages, which republish material originally posted to DOMestic should extend the same citing recognition to DOMestic as would be given to any other first publication. Please cite DOMestic as the original source when republishing a DOMestic article. The DOMestic cite should be in a style appropriate to the publication which republishes the DOMestic article. The original author may grant or withhold permission for formal republication of DOMestic articles at the author's discretion. The author and editor should ensure that DOMestic is appropriately cited when a DOMestic article is formally republished. These copyright and citing rules are not all inclusive. The primary intent is to allow reasonable and appropriate sharing of information and to provide appropriate recognition to both the original author and to DOMestic. Anyone who abuses the privilege of sharing DOMestic information may be subject to expulsion from DOMestic and to penalties as prescribed by international copyright law.
